We got ourselves into a bit of trouble with a non-redundant RAID system failing on one of our servers. It was actually a motherboard (or onboard RAID controller) failure, which we kept running on life-support for too long so when it eventually gave up. We had unreadable data and no trusted hardware upon which to do our own recovery. Unfortunately a business unit performed bulk updates between the last weekly backup and the point of failure. You've probably heard similar stories before.

I found the staff at Technetics Data Recovery to be approachable and friendly. Your advice turned out to be accurate and the quoted service was performed as you advised it would be despite some mischief performed here when we didn't accept Technetics Data Recovery prognosis. My attempts at data recovery would only have made the situation worse. The recovery performed by Technetics Data Recovery was totally satisfactory regardless.

We had cause to seek a Data Recovery service recently when a RAID 5 set of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) disks in a new IBM server became severely corrupted and our client had saved some crucial data on this server.

I thought your customer service was of a high standard with, in general, prompt replies to queries. I have just confirmed that the data was still intact which is quite a relief. Issues I had included utilising the retrieved drive the data had been placed on, and I've had to convert it to an external drive as windows wouldn't correctly install onto it.

Australia Post's "Next Day Delivery" (only to immediately metro areas) was also a little annoying, as anything further than 5 minutes outside the metro area takes longer. The delivery address was 10 mins drive outside the metro area so the delay in delivery seemed to be trivial. Although I understand this was not in anyway connected to you.

In general I highly valued your service, given that a trusted computer dealer had told me the data was unrecoverable. I would recommend you to others.

The data recovery project we ask Technetics Data Recovery to do reached its final phase on Monday 5th February 2007.

The recovered files were application software and data, which was originally written for the MS-DOS operating system, however can work in the Windows environment with some encouragement.

On Monday we were able to get the application software running. The software contained large volumes of meteorological data which is not available elsewhere. We were able to retrieve data in ASCII format on the Monday. This means that the data recovery project has reached its hoped for outcome.

I would like to thank Technetics Data Recovery for the way in which they dealt with this project. They ensured that the source data tape was not damaged, and the recovered data was kept securely until it could be passed back to us. The recovered data was in a form that the Bureau of Meteorology could use, and the outcome hoped for was the recovery of meteorological data files suitable for import to modern application software.
